Trademark Filing Questions

Short answers to typical questions we get from US and European counsel about Russian trademarks.

Yes. Foreign applicants must act through a local trademark attorney. We work with Russian and EAEU representatives and keep all communication with you in English.

For a smooth case, registration in Russia often takes around 8–12 months from filing. Complex cases or disputes may take longer; we discuss realistic timings for your particular mark at the outset.

Yes. Depending on your branding strategy, we can file Latin-character marks, Cyrillic transliterations and combined marks, and advise which versions give the best protection for your actual use in Russia.
